when to visit Matobo National Park

The best time to visit Matobo National Park is during the Dry Season (May to October). During these months, the thinning vegetation and receding water levels make it significantly easier to track rhinos and spot wildlife as they gather around permanent waterholes. While days are sunny and pleasant, winter nights (June–August) can be freezing, so warm layers are a must. Conversely, the Wet Season (November to April) transforms the park into a lush, green paradise, offering spectacular photography and peak birdwatching, though the denser bush makes wildlife more difficult to find.
