Hi Tammy, Thanks for the welcome back note. I really do love overland travel in Africa and the contrast in the two trips was dramatic. I especially enjoyed our meeting in Cape Town where you shared your own extraordinary experiences. Tsitsikamma on the coast with wild windy weather is probably the spot that will remain in my memory as outstanding. I'll add some pics on the link you sent. I will recommend you and your organization to others planning trips to Africa. All the best, Charles Hubert

Hi Lee, Hope you are keeping well. So sorry for the delay getting back to you, things have been crazy hectic since I got home. I haven't even looked through my photos properly yet! I had a great time, and thinking about the next one as always. Khwai guest house is so cool! They were amazing. The transfers to and from Maun were right on time, same driver both ways and he was great. The staff at the guest house are lovely and so accommodating. I had the benefit of being there in low season so there was only me and two other guests. I was the only person on most of the game drives so that was cool. The resident guide Stan was so committed to driving until we found every animal, and we did find everything! I haven't found a better location for wildlife yet. It's a great place to end a Botswana trip, because if you've missed animals elsewhere, you'll see them in Khwai. We even got closer to the lions than we wanted to, when the truck got stuck and they arrived while we were trying to get unstuck! But I'm here to tell the tale. And as you'll be aware the roads are very flooded and broken up after the heavy rains, so they're routes at the moment, not roads! A lot of detours and unpredictable arrival times, and lots of roadworks in Zimbabwe from Bulawayo to Vic Falls. So I'd advise anyone going soon to just pack their patience and lean into it, it's Africa with a bit extra I'm going to try to get my photos done at the weekend when I have time and I'll send you some. Thanks again for helping me to organise a great trip and I'll be in touch for next time! Best wishes, Sinead.

Hi Tammy, A week ago today I got on a plane at Vic Falls to come home. We’d just had our last breakfast together and everyone was in tears, including me. Some were heading off to Vic Falls activities, but I was coming home. My trip to Dubai had been cancelled due to Trump’s war. I can’t adequately describe how amazing the trip was. Lots of factors: we started off with only 7 people, 5 of them young women. Plenty of space on the truck. We got bogged in on Day 3 and all had to dig and push the truck out of a dry river bed. That really made us a team. By the end of Etosha we were really quite close The crew were outstanding, Costa and William. The game drives were extraordinary. We saw everything except leopard, but we did see lions mating, a buffalo successfully fighting off an attack by a croc, cheetahs playing, a family of elephants going for a swim, a pregnant rhino, a baboon sitting back-to back with a fish eagle on a branch and more and more and more. I'm trying to work out when I can come back to do the Delta, maybe with my wife. I’d happily do it all again tomorrow. I’d recommend doing it solo too. Thanks for all your help and advice for me and Harry. He loved it as much as I did. Next time, dinner is on me. Warmest regards George

Hi Bernelle, Apologies for the late response - I'm still catching my breath :-) The trip was great, the truck breakdowns added the salt and flavor. I'll definitely will be using the repeat traveler discount. Many thanks!

Hi Minette Thank you for your email. We had the most amazing two weeks enjoying all the Safari’s in the three different locations. The Serengeti and the crater were completely awesome. We had a small group of only five of us in total which was a bit of a pity in many ways, but I’m sure there was some advantages to that including more space on the truck. It was a great trip and I have left a review on TripAdvisor Many thanks for your help during the planning of the trip and answering all the questions we asked you No more trips at the moment, but I will be back if we decide to come back and do other parts of Africa Many thanks Carol and Clive

Hi Celia Good to hear from you. The memory that is precious about the trip is the love and attention the guides gave to all animals big and small. They would stop the vehicle to pick up a tortoise and place it with great care out of harm's way. Also the tiny birds high in the trees were important enough to stop the truck and allow us to view and be educated about them. Sol and Motli were a treat. Their teamwork and friendship were a plus to our trip. They treated us with patience and respect at all times. You were a star too Celia! You could send me the prize for a trip from Capetown to Botswana and Namibia please, Kindest regards Cheryl Gordon

Dear Huntley, Thank you for reaching out! The trip was absolutely magical. I am a well travelled individual (over 50 countries), and this has to be one of the all time highlights of my travel experience. It was my first time travelling overland and with a group of strangers, as the majority of the time I travel solo. It exceeded my expectations in every category. Norman and Arlington were fantastic. Cooking for different diet requirements for that number of people was no easy task but they managed every meal with ease and always seemed to know what was best for the day at hand (from fresh watermelon on a hot day to a filling delicious chicken stew in the evening). I was so impressed by how well timed all our excursions were, and that they knew how to gauge the weather so that we would have the best experience. I never at once felt like I had fallen into a "tourist trap" and that level of authenticity elevated the journey. Their knowlege of the country, politics, history, flora and fauna was impressive to say the least. Having an agricultural background, I particularly loved the farm stays and the ability to engage with people on the farms and understand their operations a little more. An absolute highlight was an afternoon tour of the farm with "Frans" who kept us all entertained and educated at the same time. It will definitely be one of the most memorable occasions for all of us. I loved the 4 x 4 dune experience in Swakopmund as well - the tour operator was excellent and it is something I would definitely book again. I am very glad I booked the accommodation option given how hot it was, and every destination had a lovely room with aircon and comfortable bed and shower which is all you need. The only disappointing place was the third night (German guest house) as none of the amenities (fan or aircon) worked and it was unbelievably hot. But other than that the accommodation was fantastic. I will be booking Namibia again with Nomads but this time with (hopefully) 11 of my friends so we can experience it together. I am in the process of onboarding people and we will be reverting back to you as soon as we have dates that suit everyone. Thanks again for a fantastic trip, and see you soon!

Thank you. It was an amazing tour which I never will forget. It is difficult to say which one particular moment as there were so many exiting moments. I really enjoyed the game drives, especially also the boat ride in Chobe, but also the Victoria falls and the desert in Namibia were amazing. I think it was not my last stay in Africa.

My trip was an unforgettable adventure, made all the better by the incredible team behind it. A heartfelt thank you to Celia from African Overland Tours for her outstanding organisation before the trip. She was responsive, helpful, and ensured everything ran smoothly before we even set foot on the truck. Once on the road, we were in the expert hands of Zanelle and Francina from Nomad Africa Tours. Zanelle, our guide, was knowledgeable, approachable, and truly passionate about every place we visited. Her insights and leadership made the journey even more enriching. And Francina, our amazing cook, treated us to delicious meals every day – always prepared with care and served with warmth and good humour. Thanks to this fantastic team, the trip exceeded all expectations. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend both African Overland Tours and Nomad Africa Tours for anyone considering this kind of adventure. Thank you again, Celia, Zanelle, and Francina!

Lee was absolutely one of the most considerate, proactive and professional people I have ever worked with! Planning for a safari of my length (75 days) got overwhelming at times due to so many variables but Lee worked with me every step of the way. As a result, everything went smoothly from start to finish. Lee very much gave me peace of mind and held my hand along the way to make everything seamless. A great experience!
