Growing up on a farm in South Africa, my world was filled with National Geographics that sparked a hunger to see far-flung places.

In 1999, I took my first overland tour from Nairobi to Cape Town and instantly fell in love with the experience. Since 2007, I’ve made it my career to share that feeling of adventure with others.

Travel has made me a more open-minded and tolerant person. It teaches you to be thankful for what you have and to appreciate the simple joy of living in the moment.

I’ll never forget being on the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater when a massive old elephant bull emerged from the forest right next to our campsite. The look of pure awe on the face of a fellow traveller seeing her favourite animal for the first time was infectious. That night, sitting around the campfire under a brilliant African sky, I fell in love with this continent all over again.

My Dream African Adventure

Honestly, just retire me next to the Okavango Delta with a 4×4 and a tent. When I need a change of scenery, I’ll drive to the dramatic landscapes of Namibia for photography, track rhino on foot in Zimbabwe, or explore the wild, untouched plains of South Luangwa in Zambia. Then I’d head to Tanzania to witness the unique ecosystem of the Ngorongoro Crater, and finish with some beach time in Zanzibar.
