Your journey begins in Namibia’s capital, Windhoek. You will be collected at 06:00 am from the designated departure point for a scenic transfer toward the northern wilderness. The drive, lasting approximately 4 to 5 hours, transitions from the cityscapes to the vast, open horizons of the African bushveld. Upon arrival in the Greater Etosha National Park area, take time to settle into your lodge and refresh. The adventure begins in earnest this evening with a sunset safari drive in a private reserve. Conducted in open 4×4 vehicles, this first game drive offers a magical introduction to the local wildlife as the day cools and the African sun dips below the horizon

Today is dedicated entirely to the famous Etosha National Park. After an early breakfast, you will board an open 4×4 safari vehicle for a full-day game drive. Etosha, meaning “Great White Place,” is dominated by a massive mineral pan that can be seen from space. The park’s watering holes are the stage for some of Africa’s most dramatic wildlife interactions. Your guide will navigate through the savannah in search of elephants, lions, rhinos, and giraffes that congregate to drink. The stark white backdrop of the salt pans makes for unique photographic opportunities unlike anywhere else in Africa. You will return to your lodge in the late afternoon to relax and share stories of the day’s sightings over dinner

Enjoy a slower start to the morning, allowing you to soak up the lodge atmosphere. Today marks the official merging with the larger tour group; you will meet your tour guide and fellow travelers for a comprehensive trip briefing. Once introductions are complete, the group will board the truck for an afternoon game drive through Etosha. This elevated vehicle offers a different perspective for viewing game, allowing you to spot animals hiding in the tall grass as you traverse the park toward your next overnight destination

Leaving the arid beauty of Etosha behind, the tour heads northeast toward the lush Caprivi Strip. The journey leads to the Kavango River, a vital lifeline in this region. You will enter the Kavango-Zambezi Transfrontier Conservation Area (KAZA), a massive protected zone spanning five countries. The landscape transforms dramatically here, shifting from salt pans to riverine forests. Your destination is Divundu, a tranquil spot on the riverbanks that serves as a gateway to the greener side of Namibia

Wake up to the sounds of the river. The morning highlight is a leisurely boat cruise along the Kavango River. As you drift along the water, keep your eyes peeled for hippos submerged in the shallows, crocodiles basking on the banks, and a dazzling array of birdlife. In the afternoon, you have the option to join a game drive in the nearby Mahangu National Park. Often called a “hidden gem,” this smaller park is biodiversity-rich and offers chances to see buffalo, elephants, and rare antelope species like the sable and roan.

Today, you cross the border from Namibia into Botswana, heading for Maun, the bustling gateway to the Okavango Delta. The drive takes you further into the heart of the Kalahari basin. Upon arrival in Maun, you will settle in for the night and prepare for the upcoming expedition into the Delta. This is the staging ground for the wilderness experience that follows, so it is the perfect time to organize your smaller luggage for the next two days.

Prepare for a full day of safari in one of Africa’s most pristine wildlife areas: the Moremi Game Reserve. You will traverse the rugged terrain in open 4×4 vehicles, navigating bumpy roads that wind through wetlands, open waters, and savannah woodlands. Moremi is renowned for its density of wildlife, including the endangered African Wild Dog, leopards, and lions. This is wild Africa at its finest—unfenced and unpredictable. In the evening, return to the Khwai camp to share tales of the day’s sightings under the stars

Departing the Delta at first light, you will take a final game drive in the 4x4s back to Maun, where you will reunite with the truck. The journey continues eastward across Botswana toward Nata. This route showcases the breathtaking diversity of the landscape, including the ancestral salt pans of the Makgadikgadi. Upon arrival in Nata, and depending on the season and road conditions, you will visit a viewpoint over the salt pans—a stark, beautiful expanse that contrasts sharply with the lush Delta you just left

The journey turns north today, traveling from the Kalahari sands to the town of Kasane, which sits on the banks of the Chobe River. You will arrive in time for lunch and a siesta. In the afternoon, embark on a boat cruise into Chobe National Park. This is a tour highlight: the Chobe River is famous for hosting one of the largest concentrations of elephants in Africa. Viewing these giants from the water as they drink and bathe, often silhouetted against the sunset, is a spectacular experience

Leaving Botswana, you will cross the border into Zimbabwe and drive the short distance to the town of Victoria Falls. The day is yours to explore the magnificent “Mosi-oa-Tunya” (The Smoke That Thunders). Entry to the Victoria Falls National Park (optional) allows you to walk the forest trails and view the massive curtain of water dropping into the Batoka Gorge. The town itself is an adrenaline hub, offering optional activities like helicopter flights or bridge swings. In the evening, you may opt to join a group dinner at a local restaurant to celebrate the journey.

Our tour concludes after breakfast. While the official itinerary ends here, the adventure doesn’t have to. Victoria Falls offers a plethora of activities, from white-water rafting on the Zambezi to cultural tours and historical bridge walks.
