On this exciting 11 day mobile camping safari, you will explore Botswana‘s best game reserves on land and water. With your professional guide, you’ll experience many unforgettable wildlife moments. You will travel to the best safari locations without sacrificing any of your comforts.
The starting point of this tour alternates between Maun and Kasane. Therefore, this tour is conducted from Maun to Kasane as well as from Kasane to Maun. Kindly contact us for more information.
A warm welcome awaits you at Maun Airport around lunchtime as you board your light aircraft for the Moremi Game Reserve. Enjoy magnificent views of the Okavango Delta and Chief’s Island from a bird’s-eye perspective. An iconic inland delta, the Okavango Delta, lies to the east of the Moremi Game Reserve. Several lagoons, rivers, swamps, and islands are formed by the flow of the Okavango River into the Kalahari Basin. Its waters are never reached by the ocean due to the presence of the Kalahari. A picnic lunch will be served shortly after your arrival at a secluded airstrip in the Moremi Game Reserve. Be prepared to see wildlife during the drive to your camp, until you reach your camp in time for a lovely sundowner. The sounds of the African bush will surround you as you enjoy your dinner under a star-filled night sky before climbing into your mobile safari tent and climbing into your comfortable bed.

Before beginning your journey to the Khwai Area within the Moremi Game Reserve, enjoy a timely breakfast. A river named Khwai forms the border between the Khwai village and Moremi Game Reserve, which is part of the region. A picnic lunch can be enjoyed along the way. You will have ample time over the next few days to explore this beautiful landscape of floodplains and wetlands. A ‘mokoro’ tour is an alternative safari experience. An experienced local poler will steer you through the mysterious web of rivers and may be able to show you many wildlife sights along the way. There is no better way to experience Botswana’s unique natural beauty than through this classic Botswana experience. Your camp staff prepares a delicious dinner for you every evening.

As you travel further north today, you will enter the Savuti Region of the Chobe National Park, after three days filled with safari adventures in the Khwai Area. There are many opportunities for game viewing in the area where you will spend your next three nights. There is once again water flowing through the mysterious Savuti Channel, but this may suddenly change at any time. Zebra migrations have been influenced by the recent increase in water in the region. The Savuti has an abundance of fresh green grasses during the green season, which is when thousands of zebras can be seen munching on it. Savuti can be explored over the next three days. Safaris are a great way to see many of Botswana’s wild animals in their natural habitat. You can relax at your camp while preparing another delicious meal while enjoying a gin and tonic, a cold beer or glass of wine. Consider settling around the campfire after dinner and listening to the sounds of nature.

Take time to enjoy breakfast before continuing your journey north. There will be a camp set up near the majestic Chobe River, where you will spend the night. Having said that, mobile camping safaris have many advantages: you are right in the middle of wildlife action while you still have access to comforts such as a real bed and en suite bathroom. There are a number of different species of animals found here that rely on the Chobe River for their survival. You are likely to encounter hippos, lions, buffaloes and sable antelopes as well as pukus. Even though Chobe National Park is home to a wide variety of wildlife, its elephant herds are its most famous feature. It is estimated that there are as many as 300 elephants in a single herd in the Chobe, which is significantly higher than the number of elephants in other wildlife areas. A boat cruise is offered in the afternoon on Day 9. The river’s edge is a comfortable place to observe the various animals coming to the river to drink and there are no bumpy or dusty roads to negotiate. If you experience the magical golden glow cast by the sun over the famous river, while you are surrounded by elephants and buffaloes, you will understand why Chobe is considered one of the best destinations for safaris.
