Itinerary

Day 1:  Windhoek – Namib Desert, Namibia

To commence your 10 day tour of Namibia, you will be warmly welcomed by a friendly guide either at your hotel or at the Windhoek Airport in the morning. After being informed about your safari travel plans, you will embark on your adventure. As you depart from Namibia’s capital, you will traverse the numerous hills of the Khomas area. If time allows it, you can embark on a scenic drive along one of the exquisite mountain passes that will lead you to the captivating Namib-Naukluft region. During your journey, you will have the chance to visit the settlement of Solitaire. Here, you can choose to indulge in their renowned apple pie before continuing to your accommodation for the next two nights, the Elegant Desert Camp. In the afternoon, you may also opt to join the lodge’s sundowner drive for a unique experience followed by a dinner that can be enjoyed under the awe-inspiring night sky.

Day 2: Namib Desert – Sossusvlei, Namibia

At The Namib-Naukluft Park, your guide will escort you to a secluded dune where you can appreciate the breathtaking morning illumination. Following a delightful picnic breakfast, you proceed further into the desert towards the Deadvlei and Sossusvlei region. Navigating through a section of off-road terrain proves to be effortlessly handled by your capable 4×4 vehicle and skilled guide. The Deadvlei clay pan presents a mesmerizing environment, allowing ample opportunity to fully immerse oneself in the environment and capture stunning photographs. Just a short distance away lies the Sesriem canyon. You can venture into the canyon and explore the formerly flowing river gorge. After an adventurous day, you may return to your campsite to unwind for the remainder of the afternoon and indulge in a tasty dinner in the evening.

Day 3: Namib Desert – Swakopmund, Namibia

A leisurely beginning to the day starts before embarking on a journey through the Gaub and Kuiseb canyons. The journey is quite picturesque commences and glimpses of the Atlantic Ocean is seen on the horizon. The journey continues with a spectacular view of the desert on your one side and the ocean on the other. Finally, you arrive at Swakopmund. A significant German architectural influence can be observed in many of the town’s buildings, and visitors are encouraged to explore at their own pace. In the evening, there are numerous outstanding dining options available within the town or along the coastal area (optional).

Day 4: Swakopmund, Namibia

You are free to spend the day however you wish. Swakopmund is called Namibia’s adventure capital and rightfully so. There are numerous delightful activities available, ensuring that you will discover an ideal option that suits your preferences. There are various options available for your recreational activities, such as a catamaran tour, a desert safari, or a quad bike tour (optional). Alternatively, you may prefer to take a leisurely walk along the beachfront, explore the shops in Swakopmund, and end your day at the highly recommended German bakeries. Even more, Swakopmund also offers a variety of captivating museums that can be explored. Make the most of your relaxing day and enjoy another stay at the Organic Stay Guesthouse.

Day 5: Swakopmund – Skeleton Coast – Twyfelfontein, Namibia

The day starts with a drive along the Skeleton Coast of Namibia. This unforgiving stretch of coastline has witnessed numerous shipwrecks throughout history that can be viewed on your journey. Upon continuing your journey along the coastline, you will eventually arrive at Cape Cross, where you will see the mesmerizing sight of more than two hundred thousand cape fur seals. A remarkable spectacle! As you continue your journey along the rugged Skeleton Coast, you may experience a sense of seclusion that accompanies this desolate terrain. It is inhospitable and yet, it possesses a unique beauty that is challenging to convey through words and is better perceived. Upon reaching Torra Bay, you will take a detour from the coastal road and enter the Damaraland region. In the afternoon, your journey will lead you to the Malansrus Tented Camp, where you can enjoy a peaceful night’s sleep.

Amidst these ancient remains, we’ll encounter the iconic Welwitschia Mirabilis, desert plants that defies imagination and are believed to live to a thousand years or more. As the day progresses, we’ll embark on a scenic drive to Etosha National Park. After a brief check-in at our camp for the evening, we’ll eagerly anticipate our first game drive in Etosha National Park, keeping our eyes peeled for the park’s diverse inhabitants. As the sun sets, we’ll return to camp, ready to savour a delicious dinner.

A final full day of the safari offers new opportunities to see different game. When you first enter the park, keep an eye out for anything you might have overlooked the day before. Your guide will lead you to the wildlife’s favourite watering holes so you can see its magnificence. So, relax and take in the wildlife display. Do not miss out on the search for some of Etosha’s smaller animals like the warthogs and jackals or even a bat-eared fox or a tenacious honey badger. You leave the Etosha National Park at the Von Lindequist Gate in the east and travel to the Onguma Bush Camp for the night with a wealth of fresh memories to cherish. Namibia is a vast country and for this reason there will be many long driving distances to explore it's length and breadth. Your Namibia lodge safari will accommodate you in comfortable rooms with en-suites and friendly service. Your group will consist of min 2 and maximum 6 people who could be couples, friends or solo travelers. You will enjoy the trip if you maintain a flexible mindset as unexpected hundles may arise along the tour which require patience and an open mind along with a dash of humour. You can expect to have breakfast around 8am and dinners will generally be at 8pm in the evening. Your guide will determine the time to leave based on the day's itinerary and your needs.
