Day 1:Â Windhoek, Namibia
A short tour briefing will be conducted at 14h00 at the hotel before we head for Windhoek to see the sights and enjoy a drink or two at Joe’s Beerhouse or a similar restaurant where we will continue our tour briefing and enjoy warm hospitality and an own expense dinner.

Day 2: Windhoek – Namib Desert Reserve, Namibia
We leave the city life behind us and head for the wide-open plains of the vast Namib Rand Nature Reserve. We journey through remote farming towns where we will have time to mingle with the locals when shopping and enter into the heart of the Namib Rand by the late afternoon to a camp nestled against an incredibly picturesque rock outcrop. Here we will have plenty of time to see the variety of desert-adapted ecology and wildlife as we go on various walks and day and night game drives.

Day 3: Namib Desert Reserve, Namibia
Waking up to the stillness of the desert that surrounds us is a wonderful way to begin the day. This is a protected wilderness that is subsidized by the tourism industry. Today our qualified guide will teach you more about the animals that survive here in these natural surroundings on a desert walk. You will be able to relax during the heat of the day before we go on a desert drive in an open safari vehicle.

Day 4: Namib Desert Reserve – Sossusvlei – Solitaire, Namibia
Another early start as we head off across the endless desert plains on to Sesriem Canyon and the breathtaking Sossusvlei Dunes, otherwise known to be the highest dunes in the world. We transfer into the heart of the dunes in 4x4s where we disembark on a walk around the area to enjoy Big-daddy dune, Sossusvlei and the peaceful, breezy and inspiring Deadvlei – a place to be enjoyed in silence!

After crossing the Namib Naukluft Park, we reach the coastal town of Walvis Bay. Our journey continues as we head to Swakopmund where we will spend the following two nights in a comfortable Lodge. There is plenty of time to explore this holiday town before sitting together and enjoying an evening meal at your own expense. There are optional activities here such as quad biking, sand boarding and sky diving or you can stroll around the town and visit the restaurants.

Day 7: Swakopmund – Spitzkoppe, Namibia
On the cards today is a trip to the barren Skeleton Coast – a scene of shipwrecks that washed up here years ago. We then enjoy some time with a large Fur Seal Colony at Cape Cross. We than venture back inland to Namibia’s majestic granite outcrops, Spitzkoppe. Here we have time to enjoy an afternoon walk and marvel at these unusual landscapes created 120 million years ago. These outcrops reach a height of 1,728 meters above sea level. Tonight, we will be camping under a starry blanket.

We’ll kick off our adventure with a leisurely start, followed by an exhilarating climb of the iconic Granite boulders of Spitzkoppe. Next, we’ll embark on a thrilling journey through the vast desert to the towering Brandberg Mountain, Namibia’s highest peak. En-route, we’ll immerse ourselves in the culture of the fascinating Himba tribe and visit the base of the mystical Brandberg Mountain, where we’ll witness the iconic White Lady bushman paintings on a guided hike. We’ll conclude the day by relaxing at our cozy campsite nestled beneath the mountain.

One of the highlights of our trip – Etosha National Park awaits us. Known for its big game we will spend two evenings here where you will spot diverse wildlife. Etosha, meaning “Great White Area” referring to the great Etosha Pan, so big, that it can be seen from space. There will be plenty of game drives for us to explore the area with. Camp for the following 2 evenings will be at one of the rest camps bordering the National Park.

We pack up this morning and head back to civilization, which will take up most of the day and you should arrive in the late afternoon back in Windhoek, where you could either take an evening flight to your next destination or you are welcome to book a post tour through us. If you are leaving in the evening, please allow for a check in time, usually 3 hours and an hour for the airport transfer.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will I enjoy this Best of Namibia Tour?- This tour involves a fair amount of walking, so a small daypack is advisable. During winter the nightime temperatures can fall below zero and during summer the daytime temperatures can reach the forties, so be prepared for this.
- A sleeping bag, towel and pillow are required for this tour. Bathroom facilities on the trip can be basic. Consult the itinerary for further details or ask your consultant.
- Seasonal Malaria precautions are advisable and are locally obtainable. Most major currencies can be exchanged on arrival in Windhoek and other centres, but banking hours do apply. Credit cards are generally accepted. Our price includes transport, food, coffee, tea, and fruit juice at breakfast, as well as a professional guide, group equipment, accommodation, permits and park entry fees. The price does not include alcohol and soft drinks, tips, curios and optional extras.
