Itinerary
Day 1: Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe
Tonight is the beginning of the adventure. We encourage you to explore the area before your welcome meeting, but please ensure that you are back in time to meet the group. On the welcome note at the hotel, you will find the time of the meeting. A brief introduction will be followed by a review of the details of your tour by your CEO. You will need to check in during normal hours at our start hotels, but if you arrive early, you will be able to store your luggage for the day.

Day 2: Victoria Falls – Hwange National Park, Botswana
This morning, explore Victoria Falls at your leisure, or choose to take a guided tour of this thunderous natural wonder. Later, you will be transferred to the headquarters of Painted Dog Conservation where you will learn about how it protects and rehabilitates injured painted dogs. Afterwards, take a safari in Hwange National Park, one of Zimbabwe’s largest wildlife reserves and an important sanctuary for elephants.There can be a wide range of road conditions in the region. In these rough spots, we slow down our pace and enjoy some sand and bumps as part of our African adventure.

Day 3: Hwange National Park, Botswana
Experience Hwange National Park and Dete Vlei’s sweeping grasslands on morning and afternoon safaris. Explore the habitats of elephants, buffalo, giraffes, lions, zebras, and the rare African wild dog, as well as giraffes, lions, zebras, and giraffes. Take advantage of the lodge’s outdoor deck or visit the underground hiding area, which is ideal for photographers. Keep an eye out for the wild animals that frequent the lodge’s watering hole this evening.

Day 4: Hwange – Chobe National Park, Botswana
Head north from Hwange, crossing the border into Botswana and arriving in Kasane, the gateway to the Chobe National Park. During your stay, you will have the opportunity to embark on a boat safari on the Chobe River, which is the lifeline of the park. From the boat’s deck, observe submerged hippos, basking crocodiles, bathing elephants, and an abundance of birdlife, followed by a spectacular sunset. In this part of Botswana, you can find Chobe bushbucks and puku antelopes. There are a number of species of wildlife that can be found along the Chobe River, including elephants, buffalo, hippos, and lions.

Day 5: Chobe National Park, Botswana
Today, you will continue your exploration of Chobe National Park, which contains one of the largest populations of elephants in Africa. Keep an eye out for elephants, buffalo, lions, zebras, rare semi-aquatic antelope, and an unbelievable variety of birds during your safari along the banks of the Chobe River. During the afternoon, you can choose to take a photography river safari on a boat designed specifically for the purpose. You will be accompanied by an expert wildlife photographer and guide who will ensure you get the perfect photograph during the photo wildlife safari on the Chobe River at sunset.

Day 6: Kasane – Okavango Delta, Botswana
On a scenic flight, you can experience the Okavango Delta. Experience the abundant wildlife of the area from the comfort of a mokoro (dug out canoe). Take a dip in the swimming pool, relax in a comfortable tent, or explore the camp. Following lunch, take a wildlife cruise to see hippos, elephants, and aquatic birds that are attracted to the region’s unique fish and insects. Before dinner under the stars, enjoy a sundowner on the camp’s deck.
Due to the availability of lecturers within the region, the Okavango Wilderness Project talk may be moved to the day after the group arrives in Maun.

Day 7: Okavango Delta, Botswana
The day begins early as you hop into mokoros so that you can maneuver through the narrow channels of the delta. Set out on a thrilling bush walk on Chief’s Island, part of the Moremi Game Reserve. Explore the wilderness with your guide in search of giraffes, zebras, lions, kudus, elephants, and hippos as well as a variety of birds. Learn how to identify animal tracks, plants, and trees that have medicinal properties, and how to identify the signs of wildlife. Enjoy brunch at camp, followed by free time to relax or observe wildlife from the deck. Take part in another boating activity or wildlife drive after high tea. Enjoy the sounds of the delta after dark as you stargaze and listen to the enchanting sounds of the delta this evening. During their stay at Moremi Crossing, the group will stay in en suite meru tents that are equipped with running hot and cold water, full beds, linens, and towels. There are thirteen tents situated on decks dotted along the fringe of the island, tucked among the pristine riverine ecosystem teeming with wildlife. Animals are frequently sighted from the decking area.

Day 8: Okavango Delta, Botswana
Depending on current conditions and water levels, depart from the marina on a wildlife excursion both early in the morning and late in the afternoon by boat, on foot, or by jeep. The camp has a variety of amenities, including swimming and a deck where you can relax with a book. Observe passing wildlife with binoculars and keep your eyes open.A large area of Chief’s Island allows the animals to move freely – and they do so! It is likely that you will be able to observe the following wildlife during your guided walk: lion, elephant, giraffe, zebra, impala, kudu, and hippo, as well as a variety of birdlife, especially between October and March when the migratory species return to the area. There is a huge difference to being on foot rather than in a vehicle for such encounters!

Day 9: Okavango Delta – Maun, Botswana
A wildlife excursion in the early morning is followed by a flight to Maun, a frontier town. Meet with a National Geographic expedition member about the Okavango Wilderness Project, an international and local collaboration aimed at protecting and preserving the biodiversity of the Okavango watershed over a multi-year period. Learn about delta conservation projects in the area by viewing the National Geographic documentary “Into the Okavango.” Bonty Botumile will perform stories and share traditional foods in the evening. As a native of Maun, Bonty’s work has been dedicated to preserving Botswana’s literary heritage and providing employment opportunities for young people. Listen as she shares her in-depth knowledge of the region’s cultural history, and cap off the night with a delicious meal and colourful stories around a warm fire.
