Many years of experience has been put into the making of the safari trucks. They are sturdy, well-equipped, comfortable and safe. The safari vehicles have large windows offering you unobstructed views of the surrounding terrain and great photographic opportunities. The passenger and driver’s compartment are integral which makes contact with the driver easier. 4×4 vehicles are used in Botswana for use in the National Parks with trailers for the equipment.
There are two tour guides who are qualified and registered field guides (Field Guides Association of SA). They have a wealth of information and knowledge which means your tours will be enriched with their expertise and passion for Africa. They have been hand-picked and trained under the hands of the owners who share the same passion and enthusiasm for Africa.
The camping facilities are good with hot showers, electricity, access to laundry facilities, interesting bars and restaurants. Some of the camps, however, have limited facilities, but they still have flushing toilets! All camping equipment is supplied, but you need to provide your own sleeping bag, pillow and towels. Two-man canvas dome tents are provided for you to rest in and are fitted with mosquito nets for your protection. They also provide tables and chairs and all cooking equipment and utensils, as well as cooler boxes or freezers for fresh food.
If you prefer added comfort and a dash of style with your safari adventure, then Sunway Safaris are more than capable of providing suitable accommodation for you. With guest houses, lodges, chalets or permanent tents, you are spoiled for choice. Some rooms have en-suite bathrooms while others are communal and you will more than likely share, but single supplements are available if you wish to stay on your own.
On camping tours your morning will usually start off with coffee and rusks depending on how much time we have before setting off to see the sunrise or travel. If we have more time bread/toast, spreads, cereals or fruit will be served, or a hot breakfast such as bacon and eggs will be cooked.
Lunches include sandwiches with a variety of fillings and salads. You can enjoy tasty meals from local organic ingredients that are purchased from the communities. Meals such as curries, stews, pastas, braais and even roasts will be enjoyed around the campfire.
The lodge tours provide meals at the establishment where restaurant-quality meals can be enjoyed.
