Budget Tuli Block Tours

The Tuli Block is a destination that captivates with its dramatic, often overlooked beauty and fascinating history. Often referred to as the “Land of Giants,” it is renowned globally for its unique, rugged topography characterized by vast tracts of mopane woodland, winding riverine forests, and spectacular, ancient sandstone formations that rise dramatically from the landscape. The Tuli Block is famous for hosting enormous herds of African elephants. Beyond the colossal elephants, the river area is a stronghold for predators, providing excellent sightings of lion, leopard, cheetah, and spotted hyena. The landscapes are further punctuated by magnificent, centuries-old baobab trees, which stand as silent, ghostly sentinels against the backdrop of vibrant sunsets. African Overland Tours invites you to immerse yourself in the unique magic of the Tuli wilderness. Unlike the traditional safaris of the Okavango, Tuli offers a diverse array of exciting, up-close activities: thrilling walking safaris, horseback riding, and mountain biking among the plains game. Discover the silence of the vast open spaces, broken only by the whispers of the wind and the distant call of a fish eagle. It’s a place where time seems to slow down, allowing for deep reflection and a profound connection with nature’s rugged, untamed artistry.

when to visit Tuli Block

The ideal time to visit the Tuli Block for classic game viewing is during the Dry Season (May to October). The thinned vegetation and concentrated wildlife near the Limpopo River’s water sources make predator and elephant sightings excellent. Alternatively, visit during the Wet Season (November to March) to witness the lush, green landscape, see newborn animals, and enjoy the phenomenal influx of migratory birds.
