Nairobi is one of Africa’s most vibrant cities. It’s a concrete jungle juxtaposed by natural beauty and authentic African flair. Yet Nairobi is fast becoming a tourist hotspot. This city is also attracting investors and large businesses resulting in rapid economic growth.
While the city’s best kept secret is Nairobi National Park, which is in the middle of the city. It’s home to many wildlife species and as a result it’s the only city in the world with a national park at its core.
Another stop on your Nairobi tour is the National Museum. It’s full of fascinating artifacts and information about Nairobi’s history which will keep you intrigued.
If you are a lover of coffee then you will be happy to know the coffee industry in Kenya is thriving. While mostly exported, coffee is the largest income generator while tourism is second.
On the outskirts of the city you will find a few more National Parks one of which is the popular Uhuru Park. This is a recreational park with trees and benches where you can sit and relax. Nairobi’s black rhinos in Nairobi National Park are a popular attraction. Add to this African buffalo, baboon, Burchell’s zebra, cheetah, Coke’s hartebeest, Grant’s gazelle, hippopotamus, leopard, lion, Thomson’s gazelle, eland, impala, Masai giraffe, ostrich, vulture and waterbuck. Nairobi Tours offer a cooler climate while not as hot as other countries in Africa. The Summer months are from December through to March with average highs of around 25 degrees Celsius. Winter has lower temperatures around 10 to 12 degrees Celsius, so if you visit in these months make sure you pack a few warm winter jackets.
