Accommodation and Meals

Get ready for an authentic and comfortable bush experience at Kambaku II Camp, a traditional lodge perfectly situated to make your stay unforgettable. You’ll be accommodated in one of our seven spacious dorm rooms, each offering refreshing air conditioning and a private en-suite bathroom. Kambaku II Camp offers excellent facilities designed for relaxation and socialising. Take a dip in the swimming pool after a day of adventure, or gather around the outdoor fire pit where we host lively braais (BBQs). This shared social space is perfect for unwinding and swapping stories under the African sky. When it comes to meals, we’ve got you covered 7 days a week. Our talented local chefs prepare a diverse and delicious menu, featuring nutritious dishes like traditional bobotie, hearty potjie, and aromatic Cape Malay-style curry. Twice a week, you’ll also get to experience the excitement of a true South African braai, cooked on an open fire – a highlight of any bush experience!

While you’re in the heart of the bush, cellular signals can be a bit unreliable. If you’re planning to grab a local South African SIM card, we highly recommend choosing MTN for the best chance of staying connected. No worries about being completely off-grid, though! Safety

Rest assured, your safety and peace of mind are at the heart of everything we do. Our qualified Field Guides are not only experts in wildlife encounters but also hold valid driver’s licenses, ensuring your journey through the bush is always secure. Our well-maintained vehicles are all fitted with radios, guaranteeing constant contact with base camp for your security. We’re deeply committed to safeguarding our volunteers, staff, and the environment. Our entire team is rigorously trained in Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) competencies, so you’re always in capable hands. At the base, you’ll find comprehensive fire safety equipment and clear evacuation plans. We also have immediate access to an ambulance service should it ever be needed. For any physical conservation work, Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) will be readily provided. Upon your arrival, our friendly staff will conduct a thorough induction, familiarizing you with all our policies, procedures, and code of conduct. This ensures you’re fully informed and aware, ready to enjoy a safe and impactful experience.
