Itinerary
Day 1: Arusha – Tarangire National Park, Tanzania
After breakfast you will be briefed about your safari and then we head for Tarangire National Park today where you enjoy an extensive game drive. Known to be one of the most beautiful parks in northern Tanzania, you see elephants, wildebeests, giraffes, buffaloes and many more. The drive ends later in the afternoon where you will travel to the Lake Burunge Tented Camp for the night.

Distance: 150km (2 – 3 hours travelling time)
Day 2: Tarangire Area – Lake Manyara National Park – Karatu, Tanzania
After breakfast we take leave the Tarangire Area to Lake Manyara National Park which has a shallow, alkaline lake and is known for it’s bird species, primate-filled forests (which is home to the long-tailed Guenon monkeys), and beautiful, lush grassy plains. There is a great chance that you will spot elephants, giraffes, hippos, wildebeests and impalas while the forests near the lake is filled with noisy groups of monkeys. After an adventurous game drive, you will travel to Karatu in the Ngorongoro Highlands and retire for the night. After your arrival, there may be some time for an optional walk in the coffee plantations for a coffee production educational.

Distance: 120km (2 hours travelling time)
Day 3: Karatu – Ngorongoro Crater – Serengeti National Park, Tanzania
Start the day early on an adventurous trail into the crater where you will see the Big Five on your way down, also wildebeests, gazelles and reedbucks can be seen. If you are lucky, you might spot the near extinct black rhino on your drive. We leave the crater and journey to the Serengeti. The Serengeti National Park is popular in Tanzania due to the largest animal migrations taking place here. Your stay this evening will be at the Kati Kati Tented Camp in the middle of the Serengeti.

Distance: 170km (4 – 6 hours travelling time)
Day 4: Serengeti National Park, Tanzania
Your day starts after sunrise on a game drive. After your game drive, enjoy a delicious breakfast at camp. Optional activities are made available to guests wanting to experience the adventures the park has to offer – namely a hot air balloon ride followed by a champagne breakfast. These activities need to be booked in advance to the trip. Enjoy another game drive in the park before you make your way back to the Kati Kati Tented Camp for one more night.

Day 5: Serengeti National Park – Lake Victoria, Tanzania
After another early morning wake-up call we continue our game drive where you will have more opportunities to spot game you haven’t seen yet. You may even see the rare African Wild dog so have your cameras ready! We then leave the Serengeti making our way to one of Africa’s biggest lakes and the second biggest in the world – Lake Victoria. The area surrounding the lake is known to be extremely fertile and densely populated. Be prepared to see a different side of Tanzania at the lake where the local fisherman spend their day spreading their nets hoping for a big catch! Spend the night at the Speke Bay Lodge before making your way to the Masai Mara.

Day 6: Lake Victoria – Masai Mara Area, Tanzania
Once breakfast is over you will join the local fisherman on a guided canoe trip on Lake Victoria. This is a unique and tranquil way to spot more wildlife. We then head off on a long journey to the Masai Mara. This is a large game reserve in Kenya so be prepared for an enriching safari through the reserve. Continuing to live up to its reputation, the reserve has the highest lion population in all of Africa. Be sure to be on the lookout for other species of cats such as leopards and cheetahs throughout the year. Your camp this evening will be spent at the luxurious Mara West Camp.

Distance: 270km (8 – 9 hours travelling time)
Day 7: Masai Mara Game Reserve, Tanzania
We spend the day on a safari and game viewing. Your safari vehicle will take you on extensive game drives in the Mara Triangle, which is located in the north-western part of the Masai Mara. An expanse of grasslands dotted with acacia trees dominates the landscape. As the wildebeests and zebras trek across the Mara River, you will see the greatest hurdle in their way. Tens of thousands of animals prepare to cross the river at the end of October and beginning of November, knowing there is possible death ahead as crocodiles lurk just below the surface of the water. There is nothing more gruesome than this. Besides hippos, hungry crocodiles, and other animals, the river is home to other animals throughout the year. You return to your Mara West Camp accommodation in the late afternoon, as the shadows lengthen.

Day 8 – 9: Masai Mara Game Reserve, Tanzania
Spend the next two days in the Masai Mara Game Reserve and experience multiple game drives. Many interesting animals live in the reserve, such as gazelles, elands and Cokes hartebeests. Take a trip to the Mara River viewing the spectacular swelling of the river while thousands of animals are crossing it. Spend the following two nights at the Mara Legends Camp inside the reserve.

Day 10: Masai Mara Game Reserve – Nairobi, Kenya
Following breakfast, your next destination will be Nairobi, Kenya’s bustling and chaotic capital. Once you arrive in the late afternoon, you will either be taken directly to your hotel or to the airport, depending on your travel plans where your tour will come to an end.
