Itinerary

Day 1: Maun – Moremi Game Reserve, Botswana

Your first day in Botswana! Your journey starts at Maun Airport midday at 1pm where you will be greeted with a warm welcome to Botswana. Experience a breathtaking light aircraft scenic flight over Chief’s Island and the Okavango Delta. You get a bird’s-eye perspective of this remarkable ecosystem during this flight. Your guide will be waiting for you at the bush airstrip in the Moremi Game Reserve to transport you to your mobile camp, stopping along the way for a game drive. You and your fellow travelers travel to your campground in your 4×4 safari vehicle. You can anticipate seeing your first wildlife on the drive, which also serves as your first game drive. A tour of the camp and refreshing refreshments will be waiting for you at the campground from your welcoming camp personnel. Spend precious time over the campfire while counting stars after a delectable dinner. The first night of your group camping trip in Botswana is spent in a roomy walk-in tent outdoors.

Meals: Lunch, Dinner
Distance: ± 100 km
Driving Time: 4-5 hours
Please note: All charter flights in Botswana have a 20kg luggage limit including hand luggage. No hard case suitcases are allowed.

Day 2: Moremi Game Reserve, Botswana

Animals are more active in the cooler morning hours and therefore the chances are high you may see the animals that roam here. The secret to an unforgettable safari experience is to start early! In the Third Bridge region of the Moremi Game Reserve, you spend the day going on game drives. You tour the 5,000 square kilometer protected region with your other travelers and your guide. One of the best safari destinations in Botswana, if not all of Africa, is Moremi. Elephants, crocodiles, hippos, and many various kinds of antelopes may all be found in the Xakanaxa Region, which is located in the Moremi Game Reserve. This area is characterized by Mopane woods, lagoons, and shallow waterways. In Moremi, lions, leopards, and cheetahs can all be found. You can unwind by the campfire at night, watch the stars shine, and then drift off to sleep while listening to the nightly bush concert.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Distance and driving time: depends on the route chosen on game drive

Day 3: Moremi Game Reserve – Khwai Area, Botswana

Today we travel to the East, the Khwai Region. Although you are changing your camp and resting in a different location, you are still inside the Moremi Game Reserve’s boundaries. Here you will find wide grasslands, woods, and—most prominently—lagoons, streams, and meadows. The Khwai River divides the Khwai Community Area, which is next to the Moremi Game Reserve. In order to allow extra time for game drives, your lunch will be a picnic box consumed while you’re traveling. In addition to lions and hyenas, Khwai is also home to rare African wild hunting dogs and, if you’re lucky, elusive leopards. This habitat is home to sable and roan antelopes. The camping team will make sure you have all you need as you enjoy another night in your cozy walk-in tent. Your campsite is tucked away in a quiet area of the Moremi Game Reserve.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Distance: ± 100 km
Driving Time: 3 – 4 hours

Day 4: Khwai Region, Botswana

Before starting another game drive, enjoy your breakfast outside. Your knowledgeable guide is well-versed in the area and will give intriguing information and tales about the social behavior of the animals in addition to where to look for them most frequently. You two go on an exploration of the Khwai River’s meadows. Compared to the Khwai Community Area across the river, this area is farther away. You will experience a safari that is much more special this way. You will be astonished by how much you have already seen and experienced because no two safari days are the same. An exceptional highlight is waiting for you in the afternoon as you paddle a mokoro, a traditional dug-out canoe, through the waterways that meander through the Khwai Region. Your guide will lead your canoe through the river and reed maze. As your mokoro silently glides across the shallow water, you can see hippos, crocodiles, and other species of water birds. A traditional Botswana experience that will probably rank high on your travel list. Another delectable meal and a roaring campfire are waiting for you in the evening.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Distance and driving time: Depends on the route chosen on game drive

Day 5: Khwai Region – Chobe National Park (Savuti region), Botswana

From the far end of the Okavango Delta to the isolated Savuti Region in the southwest corner of Chobe National Park, you go today. After the tranquil meadows of the Khwai Region, you now travel through arid, almost desert-like savannah, which is a remarkable difference in landscape. Predator density is what makes the Savuti Region famous. Antelopes and other animals are being eaten by sizable lion prides and hyena clans. Enjoy a second day and night in the national parks of Botswana.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Distance: ± 170 km
Driving Time: 5 – 6 hours

Day 6: Chobe National Park (Savuti Region), Botswana

In one of the greatest areas of Botswana for animal viewing, you can expect longer game drives. Whether or not the Savuti Channel is flowing will have a significant impact on Savuti’s landscape. This channel was completely dry up until a few years ago. The Savuti Channel was dry for more than three decades. Its water initially flooded the marsh in 2010 after a protracted dry spell. Since there is no way to predict when and if it will flow, the presence or absence of water can significantly alter the dynamics of the area. On your game drive, you will have plenty of time to take in both the significant and insignificant events and to explore the natural world thoroughly with your knowledgeable guide. The day comes to a conclusion around the campfire and beneath a canopy of sparkling stars.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Distance and driving time: Depends on the route chosen on game drive

Day 7: Chobe National Park (Savuti Region) – Chobe National Park (River Front), Botswana

Your next campground is located in the enormous Chobe National Park’s northeastern region, which is renowned for having an abundance of animals. After breakfast, your camp staff will pack up the camp as usual while you and your guide embark on the first game drive of the day. Additionally, this gaming drive will lead you to your new campsite. To get to the Chobe River Front today, you’ll drive partially through the Chobe Forest Reserve. Chobe is renowned for having a significant number of elephants that roam the area in herds. Along the banks of the Chobe River, you might also encounter buffalo, hippos, big cats, and elephants. You sleep in your comfortable walk-in tent for one more night.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Distance: ± 150 km
Driving Time: 4 – 5 hours

Day 8: Chobe National Park (River Front), Botswana

You may make the most of your final full day on safari. You tour the area around the Chobe River with your tour guide and fellow travelers. It is the park’s most significant water supply and draws a wide variety of wildlife. Another high point will happen in the afternoon: When you take a boat tour on the Chobe River, you may see the wildlife from a different angle. Elephants frequent the river frequently to quench their thirst and enjoy the unique experience of splashing about. Your camp staff will treat you to one last bush dinner in the evening. Sip on anything beside the fire while gazing up at the beautiful night sky.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Distance and driving time: Depends on the route chosen on game drive

Day 9: Chobe National Park (River Front) – Kasane, Botswana

Your excursion with us for group camping in Botswana comes to an end. Around nine in the morning, after an early breakfast and one more brief game drive, you reach Kasane. You say your goodbyes, and we wish you a happy recollection of your vacation for a very long time.

Meals: Breakfast
Distance: ± 50 km
Driving Time: ± 1 hour
