Itinerary
Day 1: Nairobi – Tsavo West National Park, Kenya
We meet in Nairobi, the capital of Kenya, where you will be briefed on your upcoming safari. You will then embark on your safari across Kenya in your Toyota Land Cruiser 4X4. We leave the hustle and bustle of the capital behind as we travel towards Tsavo West National Park. Within a few kilometers of leaving the city, nature takes over and the skyscrapers get replaced by shrubs and grasslands. Tsavo West is only a short drive away, so you will be able to embark on your first game drive in the afternoon. It is surprising how many animals you can spot on your first day! One of Kenya’s largest national parks, Tsavo West is home not only to the Big Five, but also to more than 600 different bird species. It is also home to the rare Hunter’s hartebeest. Severin Safari Camp will be your first stop for the night.

You will have the opportunity to do a game drive exploring this wildlife haven before heading north to Amboseli National Park. During your afternoon game drive in the iconic Amboseli at the Tanzanian border, known for its large elephant herd, you can expect to see different landscapes and animals. In Africa’s highest mountain, Mount Kilimanjaro, elephant herds march among the acacia trees while birds ride on their backs. Kenya’s most popular park is regarded as one of the country’s most impressive sights. There are lions, buffaloes, wildebeests, zebras and waterbucks living in the open grasslands and wetlands. In addition to finding and observing the animals with your guide, you will also gain an understanding of their behaviour and social structure. Your journey to the Ol Tukai Lodge will begin as the shadows lengthen.

Our destination for today will be the tranquil Lake Naivasha, one of the few freshwater lakes within the Great Rift Valley. In addition to being home to many rose farms, the economic driver of the region, Naivasha is known as the flower capital of Kenya. After an impressive array of wildlife adventures over the past few days, it is now time to relax – you can spend the afternoon as you wish. Book and enjoy a boat trip on the lake offerering you the opportunity to view hippos and bird life, or you can simply stroll around the lodge’s grounds or relax by the pool. For many East Africans and tourists alike, the Mara is a symbol of the wildlife experience in the region. Africa’s most famous attraction is the Great Migration, during which millions of wildebeest and zebras migrate in search of fresh green grass following the rains. Regardless of the season you visit the Mara, you will have the opportunity to see elegant giraffes, proud lions, the world’s fastest land animal, the cheetah, along with many other animals on today’s afternoon game drive. You will spend the next two nights at Tipilikwani Mara Camp, located along the banks of the Talek River and surrounded by trees.

Wildebeest and zebras plunge into the waters of the river when the Great Migration passes through Kenya to be devoured by hungry crocodiles.
