This protected natural area, recognized by UNESCO as a site of global significance, provides refuge to both white and black rhinoceros, as well as sable antelope. The avian population is abundant, showcasing the planet’s densest population of black eagles. This historical territory, once inhabited by the San people, boasts the most extensive collection of ancient rock paintings globally. Furthermore, it serves as the final resting place for Mzilikazi, the esteemed Ndebele monarch, and also for Cecil John Rhodes, who chose the “Hill of the Benevolent Spirit,” or “World’s View,” as he christened it, for his interment.
