Day 2: Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe (Your OMG Day!)
Victoria Falls’ original name, Mosi-oa-Tunya, means “the smoke that thunders”. The sound of the cracking and the cold mist can almost be felt just from reading those words. Enjoy a perfectly customized experience by experiencing it from above, below, by foot, or by boat. Is there anything stopping you from having the adventure of a lifetime on your first day?
Start your tour of Victoria Falls with a fully guided tour. This is an essential part of every trip. After lunch, you can choose what to do. A guided tour of Victoria Falls’ Bridge over the Falls will take you through over 100 years of history. As well as offering an extraordinary birds eye view of the falls, guides provide engaging insight into the history of this iconic structure. You can choose between the Historical Bridge Tour or you can take part in an adrenaline-pumping jet boat ride.

Day 3: Chobe, Botswana (Bringing Africa’s past to life)
Imagine the scene of a turn-of-the-century explorers’ camp set up a hundred years ago. Spend an evening drinking gin and tonics and listening to stories of those who explored this spot before you were born. Keeping time with your breath while listening to lion calls in the distance.
Travel from Zimbabwe to Botswana and enter Chobe National Park, like the true adventurer you are. Spot elephants, crocodiles, and hippos while floating downriver. As we proceed to our exclusive bush camping experience, we will continue our safari on land. You have set up your tent, affixed your headlamp, and are listening to the sounds of Africa.

We return back into Zimbabwe today an embark on your chariot through Hwange National Park. Your chariot is a converted 22-seat train car that whisks you past elephants and zebra as you reach your next destination. Enjoy all the wildlife on your way to your next destination from the luxury of a train.

Day 5: Hwange National Park, Zimbabwe (From the Ground Up: The Circle of Life)
Taking a walk in the bush gives you a new perspective on African life. It is hard to notice dung beetles waddling through dirt from high up in the vehicle. Their importance in the ecosystem is just as important as lions, giraffes, and elephants. Enjoy a safari bushwalk in the morning and an afternoon safari drive to spot those not-so-small elephants in the late afternoon.
During the safari, guests will explore both the bush and the roads, and enjoy a delicious lunch in the open air. Despite the day being full of adventure, we managed to squeeze in some time for a swim in the pool.

Day 6: Hwange National Park, Zimbabwe (It’s an Elephant’s Playground)
A huge population of elephants inhabits Hwange National Park. The beauty of seeing them in person cannot be overstated. Watch elephants drinking from the watering hole and moving about their daily lives from an underground hide.
A safari drive awaits you in the early morning, followed by a leisurely breakfast at our lodge as we take advantage of the hotter part of the day. You should head to the pool for a refreshing dip. A night safari drive offers a unique opportunity for viewing nocturnal wildlife after viewing elephants this afternoon from our unique vantage point.
Accommodation: Camelthorn Lodge (or similar)

Day 7: Lake Kariba, Zimbabwe (Lakeside Safari)
Originally created by damming the Zambezi river back in 1959, Lake Kariba is the largest man-made lake in the world by volume. There are now cormorants, tigerfish, crocodiles and hippopotamuses living there. If you don’t fancy a swim with a hippo, you can marvel at Africa’s water dwelling wildlife from your lakeside lodge.
Take one last opportunity to enjoy Hwange’s serenity on a safari drive in the morning. Travel from Hwange to Kariba by short flight. Across Lake Kariba on the southern side, you will board a boat bound for your lodge. In addition to offering both water and land wildlife experiences, your `OMG Stay` is located right next to Matusadona National Park. Changa Safari Camp is a stunning camp on the shore of Lake Kariba at Matusadona National Park. Your tent is furnished with a comfortable bed and en-suite bathroom. The pool on the property provides a great place to relax after a day of safari.
Why we love this stay!
- Changa makes sustainability a priority by running its entire property on solar power.

- You and your fellow Geluxe travelers will be the only guests at Changa during your stay, ensuring an intimate and immersive experience.

Day 8: Lake Kariba, Zimbabwe (Sundowners at Kariba and the Matusadona National Park)
It is an inspiring story of revitalization to see Matusadona National Park. As a permanent home for elephants and black rhinos, Matusadona has now been given a 20-year contract under African Parks. As a result of investments made into the local communities, legal fishing practices have been restored, and local communities are again taking pride in being stewards and partners in protecting the area where they live and work.
In Matusadona, elephant, cape buffalo, and impala can be seen on a safari walk early in the morning. Sanyati Gorge can be traversed in the afternoon on the lake. Among the gorge’s numerous bird species and even the occasional antelope living nearby, the views rival those of the Fjords of Europe or New Zealand. This evening, we can all enjoy a well deserved sundowner at the lodge.

Day 9: Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe (Curtains Close)
An exciting performance concludes the evening at Victoria Falls, where it all began. Come and see the exciting local production “Simunye-We are one” when night falls. An African adventure won’t be complete without this fusion of theatre, dance and song.
A final day of adventure awaits you at Victoria Falls. You will board a flight in the morning, and then you can spend the afternoon as you please. To conclude the adventure of a lifetime, a helicopter ride over the falls is available before the evening performance.
