Bushways Safaris

On a Bushways Safari you will experience an authentic Africa travelling the dusty roads and camping in the wild. They offer semi-participation camping, fully serviced camping and accommodated (lodge to lodge). Each style of safari encompasses different itineraries – in total Bushways operate a number of different safari programs – all with several scheduled departures throughout the year. A maximum amount of 9 to 12 guests are allowed on tour, depending on the type of safari chosen so that everyone gets a window seat. However, departure is guaranteed with one traveller.

What is a Bushways Safari like?

No day on a safari is the same, and depending on the tour style you choose, your experience will vary. The types of safaris offered range from helping out around the campsite to fully serviced accommodated safaris. It all depends on the experience you would like to have. Below are the types of safaris:

Bushways Semi-participation Safaris:

These adventures maintain the exhilarating spirit of the pioneer. On these safaris you will need to assist in some areas around the campsite from setting up and taking down the tent, carrying bags to/from the vehicle and various small chores around the campsite. There is a camp assistant who will help you.
The tents are 2.1m x 2.1m x 1.75m big with a high density foam mattresses. You will use shared ablutions which will be set up by the team.

Bushways Fully-serviced Safaris:

Genuine and authentic bush experiences simultaneously offering stunning comfort. On these safaris all the chores are carried out by the guides. There is always a dedicated guide with the guests while the other team member cooks or assists around the campsite.
The tents are very spacious with sleeping bags, mattresses and bedding provided. There will be en-suite private bush ablutions with toilets and showers that are directly accessible from the tent.

Bushways Accommodated Safaris:

The Bush Ways Accommodated safari offers travellers the opportunity to explore the most amazing wilderness areas of Botswana, Namibia and Zambia, simultaneously providing the comfort of permanent camps and lodges with the incredible privilege of being introduced to these fantastic natural wonders from beginning to end by one of the passionate Bush Ways guides.

This lodge-to-lodge mobile safari itinerary is around a 3-star standing and offers a lot of activities. The activities are carried out in the various lodges where we are staying using the lodge game drive vehicles, boats and mokoros (traditional dugout canoes). Departures are guaranteed from 4 travellers confirmed on a tour.

Bushways Vehicles:

You will travel the roads in 4×4 safari vehicles custom-built by Bush Ways with custom-built trailers. One backup vehicle is specifically dedicated to setting-up/packing the camp and travels ahead of the group. Transportation between lodges is done in a comfortable, air-conditioned minibus.

Bushways Guides:

The guides are very well trained and have years of experience in the bush. You will get two guides per tour who will set up the camp and tents, do chores and cook. One guide will be with the guests at all times. They will also take you on game drives providing a wealth of information about the area you visit and the animals.
