The population of elephants in this park is the most well-known. The Chobe National Park is home to around 40,000 elephants, making it the area with the largest elephant density in the world. The Chobe National Park is also referred to as “The Land of Giants” because of this. Your guide, who is quite knowledgeable about the region, will offer fascinating information and anecdotes about the elephants and other park wildlife, such as lion, buffalo, various antelope species, and numerous smaller animals that call Chobe home. As the day comes to an end, you depart from Chobe National Park on the western side and travel to Chobe Elephant Camp, where you will spend the next two nights.

Day 5: Chobe Forest Reserve – Savuti – Moremi Region, Botswana

You have an exciting day ahead of you, so it needs to get underway early. You will be up and moving before the first light, traveling in the direction of the Savuti region. The Savuti is well known for its diverse vistas and excellent game viewing. Predators are especially well-known in this area, so keep an eye out for any lions, leopards, or hyenas. These hunters occasionally be sighted making their way back from their nighttime activities in the early morning hours. The enigmatic Savuti channel created and continues to reshape the bizarre Savuti environment. The canal may supply water to the area for many years, but at some point it may suddenly dry up and stay dry for an unforeseen amount of time. But nature never fails to display its remarkable endurance. Because of this, every Savuti safari is intriguing. After spending an amazing day seeing wildlife, you arrive at Mmatsebe Camp, your two-night lodging located beside the Mbudi River in a private concession north of Khwai. You may expect a satisfying meal and a restful night’s sleep here.

There is an abundance of wildlife throughout the entire region, including the Big Five. In addition, it’s among the greatest spots in Africa to see African wild dogs. The Moremi, with its private concessions all around, offers the broad places these infrequently seen creatures need to roam. Additional features you might see here include lions, leopards, elephants, giraffes, and, if you’re lucky, a cheetah. Antelope species include the tsessebe, roan, and sable. Your guide’s keen vision and ability to spot will provide for an amazing safari experience. You head back to your camp in the afternoon. Make sure you sit on the deck of the camp and watch the animals come to the Mbudi River to drink as the sun sets on another unforgettable day. You stay at the Mmatsebe Camp for an additional night.

Compared to the northern portion, the southern portion of the Moremi Game Reserve is more isolated and has less safari cars on the roads. Excellent chance to go on game drives and explore this remote location. You will depart the Moremi Game Reserve in the late afternoon and arrive at the Thamalakane River Lodge, where you will be staying.
