4 Tips for Choosing a Cape Town To Victoria Falls Overland Tour

Here are some basic tips on choosing a Cape Town to Vic Falls Tour.

1. Camping or Accommodated

To camp or not to camp? That is the question.

On a camping trip you would be staying in dome tents vs an accommodated tour you would be staying in simple accommodation such as guesthouses and lodges. There is a substantial price difference. Both trips generally travel on the same routes with the difference that most accommodated trips include a trip in a light aircraft into the Okavango Delta.

2. When to go?

The route is pretty popular all year round, however, saying that May to November are the cooler months (low rainfall and daytime temperatures of 10 – 25 degrees) which means they are very popular. December to April are the summer months where the daytime temperatures can reach the mid to high 30s.

3. Style of Truck – Basic Truck vs Superior

The basic trucks often take more people and the price of the trip is generally less. The superior trucks generally have private lockers, battery chargers, fridges, mattresses, larger windows and other features which enhance the trip.

4. More Inclusive tour or Basic tour?

With a more inclusive tour your optional activities are more than likely included in the tour price. While basic tours require for you to pay for the optional extras while on route.
