The Cape Peninsula, South Africa

The Cape Peninsula is a rocky peninsula jutting out into the Atlantic Ocean, off Africa. At the northern tip you have Table Mountain overlooking the Mother City and the southern point, the Cape of Good Hope. It is one of the biggest reasons anyone should visit Cape Town and explore either at your own pace, or by an organised Africa budget tour.

There are several boat trips one can take to explore this beautiful peninsula. Get an early morning start and set out on a boat trip at the V&A Waterfront, or a tour to Robben Island. You can also take a boat trip to seal island from Hout Bay and feast on freshly caught fish and chips for lunch, overlooking the harbour. Sunset cruises to Clifton beach or Table Bay are also available.

Head off to the look-out point over Cape Point where both the Atlantic Ocean and Indian Ocean meet. Or visit the penguins on Boulder’s Beach. Spend a relaxing day under the African sun for a picnic lunch at Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens, or indulge in tea and scones at one of the restaurants.

No matter where you go along the Cape Peninsula your lungs will be filled with fresh air and your senses will be filled with the wonderful tastes, sights and sounds of Africa!
