we had an absolutely fantastic holiday every week was so different from the previous but such an experience we both trully did fall in love with the continent.
the tours were amazing, really reccomend the it. the tour was well planned and full of fun! the camp sites and hostels etc were also well above expectations.
thanks for all your help in organising our trip cos it really did contribute to our expereince of a life time
if you would need any formal feedback etc please do not hestitate to ask.
sorry for the delay, but since I am back…I am back on my groove.. either way, Africa was even better then expected….love it love it, love it!!! want to get back …hopefully next apr. may. I would have loved to have seen the migration of the animals, but we were a little to late at the crater and the serengeti and a little too soon at ehe maisa mara…either way it was amazing…. the gorillas were seen in the congo…much more exciting too…. I am not sure what was my favorite…everything I guess, but the “tour guide”Matt Dry really brought so much to the trip. He was very knowledgable and was so willing to share his knowledge…it really brought the trip to another learning level. also the people in the trip were so amazing…we were from so many placed but we had so much in common. I just cannot say enough of what a great experience it was. Please pass along my comments about Matt…he really deserves some kodos….
also, you helped me so much organizing the trip…thank you again.
Hope you are doing well and I will be contacting you next year for my next african adventure Fritz.

Ok so here goes; my official update for all those who are interested; I finally got to a computer, and you would freak if you saw where i accessed one at; im in the middle of a park in Madagascar, and im soooooo thrilled about it; i started my trip 5 days ago; and im loving every minute of it; at first i was a little freaked out and unhappy, that’s cuz i was in the city, what a horrible place that was; and to top it all off, it was their independence day, oh btw happy fourth of July everyone; well i joined up with my group and off we went, and straight into the jungle we went; the very first day i saw lemurs, chameleons, all sorts of insects and plants i only dreamed of seeing before; it was everything i hoped for, and then some; so we did loads of hiking, night and day, saw all sorts of wildlife, drove tons, met the locals; who are extremely friendly, and poor I might add; I brought lots of pens, paper, and toothbrushes for the children and they really appreciated it, and needed it as well;
oh and there are so so so so many kids here; each woman has at an average of 10 kids, its crazy, and they are so very poor; well i cant go on too much longer im getting closed up on, and its dark, and i have to walk back to my bungalow in the dark now; eeeeeeeee, well anything to get a quick update out to everyone;
ill be in touch again the next chance i have to get to a computer; we are off to do some more jungle trekking tomorrow, i cant wait to show you all my pix, they are so incredible;
see you soon.
We just got another update from Holly ! So nice to hear she is having an awesome time.
Hi all, it’s me again……I can’t believe it’s almost over, I’m finished travelling around Madagascar, and now I’m back in the city of Tana once again. I just wanted to share some words about this beautiful county…..here goes
colourful, friendly, dry, blue skies, warm people, clean air, poor, long orange unpaved roads, woman working hard in the fields, children in ragged clothing always waving hello with a huge sincere smile on their faces, clear unspoiled oceans full of the most colourful reef fish I’ve ever seen, chickens and zebu (cows), rice and tobacco fields as far as the eye can see, very few trees, except for the patches of eucalyptus, and pines, patches of rainforest filled with wildlife, odd shaped trees, the sound of silence except for the wind, birds and distant cries of farm animals, these are just a sample of the sights and sounds I’ve encountered while I’ve been here.
I don’t want it to end, but sadly I have to come home at some point. Now don’t get me wrong, I miss my bed, friends, and pets. I just love this so very much; it is an amazing experience that I will never forget. I just wanted to give you all some idea of what this place is like. I promise I will have lots of pix to share when I return.
Thanks for the tips. Also, in addition to tour team doing a great job, I would like to complement your and your company as well especially for your prompt replies and great advice. Talking to other people on our trip, it seems like we defiinitely had the best experience with an agent.
Thank you for all the help again. We arrived at Cape Town with no problems and the transport service was there waiting for us. You made it so easy for us.
The first moment I set my eyes on the silverback and his family was a truly a breathtaking experience. You just can’t believe your eyes. I will never forget looking down from a cliff and seeing the beautiful animals below.
We trekked in the thick vegetation for 3 hours which was beautiful as we passed villages and saw how the locals live in the area. The walk is certainly for fit people and the length of the walk depends on where you go to see the gorillas on the day. Some people only walk for 30 minutes while other routes are longer, like mine was.
Make sure you carry at least a 1 litre of water as I didn’t have enough but my guide was so kind and offered his water. It is important to wear comfy trainers (not new ones as they will give you blisters and get ruined in the thick bush). Long trousers are necessary and a long, thin sleeve top. It will be hot and humid and depending on the time of the year you could be walking in the rain. Comfy longs socks which you must tuck your trousers into so that red ants don’t crawl up your legs, or you can wear gaters.
When you get to the gorillas you will be asked to sit down and you will spend an hour with them. When I was there a big mom came over to see us with her baby. It was just amazing and our guide told us to look down and never in the eyes. While we were sitting there a gorilla toddler (probably 8 months old) came running up to us and started beating on his chest like Tarzan. Such a show off!
It was honestly one of the best experiences in my life. They were just so huge and so gentle, and I was amazed that they allowed us to witness an hour of their every day life.
Just to let you know the permit (currently 500-600 USD) goes to the park and the preservation of the gorillas. Minimum age is 16 but I recommend 18 to be the minimum.
Here are a few budget trips that visit the gorillas. We also have upmarket Rwanda Gorilla treks that allow for multiple gorilla treks.
I know- I can’t believe its the 15th already! We had an absolutely fantastic time. Everything ran so smoothly and we saw some really great things. Thank you so much for your part in organising it, it was awesome. We went bungy jumping and gorge-swinging at Vic Falls which was cool and saw lots of animals. The Okavango Delta part of the tour was also fab.
Kind regards
Annabel
Feedback on a 10 Day Okavango Experience
I was going to email you Gelle – they had a fantastic time! I think they took every opportunity on offer (including bungee jumping – I’m glad I heard about that one after the event!).
Thank you so much for your help and reassurance – they had no problems, they said the driver was excellent and informative and they enjoyed the food – particularly the cooking in a hole in the Delta! They also had really good polers who were fun and sang for them. They saw lots of animals and loved the two cruises.
I am sure Annabel will get in touch to tell you more and I will certainly recommend you to others. In fact my husband and I are planning a trip soon – but we want a bit more upmarket – certainly not camping, I’m too old!!
Make sure you say hello to them when you go to the reunion.
